This small acrylic painting (207 x 207 mm) is based on a sketch which is also on this website. The hills near Avignon are criss-crossed with tracks and because there was a fire there last summer the trees at the summit are quite bare. It was magical to catch a glimpse of a turret in the distance behind the hills.
