Expressive, story-rich paintings

I am a painter and printmaker working in oils, acrylics, watercolour, inks and collage who loves experimenting and exploring!

I like to simplify what I see and focus on shape and pattern.  My work is naïve, colourful and serene.  Much of my work has a narrative quality - a sense of story or place.

Go Your Way by Catherine Mactaggart
£950.00

This painting is about quietly escaping everything that stops you from pursuing your passion. Dedicate time to it every day. Be mindful of excuses you tell yourself or about saying yes to other things. Choose what you want to focus on.

The pattern is a reference to my Argentine heritage. Similar patterns (not in my colours) can be found on ponchos.

It measures 1 x 0.8m unframed. Medium: oil.

St.Ives Bay
£250.00

This small painting was made after a visit to St.Ives last summer. I loved the winding lanes, the charming houses and shops and the brightly coloured buoys on the boats that came and went in the busy harbour. It is mixed media and measures 35.3 cm x 28.2 cm framed in black wooden tray frame.

Cornish village with fishing boats
£250.00

The reason I left most of the boats unpainted is that I wanted to give a sense of the history of the place. I always think of the fishermen who lived in these coastal villages and went out to sea every day. So the white boats are sort of ghost boats.

oil painting on panel. unframed. Approx. 30 × 21 cm

unframed. (it would be approx. £50 more to frame).
